The roseate spoonbill is a gregarious wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family. Their pink color is diet-derived, consisting of carotenoid pigment, like the flamingo. They eat crayfish, shrimp, crabs and fish. Adults have no feathers on their neck, their spoon shaped bill is gray, and their body is mostly pink with tufts of bright red and yellow. These gregarious birds frequent many waterways around Hilton Head Island and surrounding areas.
Lovely classic, silver colored wood frame, double mat with crisp white layered over a gorgeous light gray mat.
Classic coastal painting just waiting to hang in your home.
I used 300 lb hot press Arches watercolor paper along with Winsor & Newton paints.
